Modification wires

Through the use of modification wires, fillers can be added to cast iron and steel smelts in a particularly precise and environmentally friendly way. With its MODIFILCORD® and MODIFILREX® wires, DRAHTZUG STEIN offers two high-quality modification wires for the efficient and precise final treatment of cast iron and steel smelts. The safe and controlled addition of materials that are difficult to handle such as calcium, magnesium and titanium is thus assured.
During the production of DRAHTZUG STEIN modification wires, the most different filling materials are carefully selected with respect to their grain size, analysis results and purity.
Our MODIFILCORD® and MODIFILREX® branded products are used to refine the steel and cast iron smelts of major and well-known steel producers and foundries worldwide.
ADVANTAGES OF MODIFILCORD® AND MODIFILREX® FLUX-CORED WIRES
- Cored wire can be used with every wire feeding unit
- Cored wire can be delivered with all types of fill on customers’ request
- Constant sheath stiffness enables exact wire transportation
- Safe and controllable addition of substances that are reactive or difficult to handle such as calcium, magnesium or titanium
- Uniform filling ratio, the result of a well-controlled filling process during production
- Steel sheath thickness coordinated with the particular processes leads to optimum success in metal treatment
- High packing density of fill prevents powder seeping out of the cored wire
- Increased output relative to other processes
- Exact adaptation to all metallurgical conditions and each process
- Consistent reproducibility on each treatment
- Reduced treatment times and consequently, less temperature losses
